Dual Diagnosis Group
Leader:
David H. Ebaugh, MA, LCPC, CEAP, CCDC
Session Length: 90 minutes, ongoing, weekly, 6 month minimum commitment required.
Description: Individuals who are addicted or abusing alcohol or drugs with another diagnosable disorder (e.g. Mood, Anxiety, or Personality Disorder).
Goal of Group: Address both disorders concurrently through group process and psychoeducation. Patient will maintain sobriety, learn concept of disease model of addiction, self-diagnosis, learn relapse prevention skills, and learn the value of support groups such as AA, NA, and Rational Recovery. All participants are expected to make an oral first step presentation prior to successful completion. All patients attending group are required to attend an individual session with counselor one time per week.
Group Guidelines: All Dual Diagnosis Therapy Group participants are expected to fully commit themselves to the group Guidelines. (Click here)
